Busy , Busier , Busiest

What happened yesterday ?


1 ) Lady Cheah's workmen came to install the sliding panel for our study / guest room . Its unfinished ...to be continued today .

Somehow I don't feel comfortable with the wood color I had chosen . It made my room look small and stuffy . I should have stuck to my instincts and choose light colors instead of being influenced by these so called interior designers who so called themselves specialists. ARGHHHHHH!!


I can't wait for the room to be finished ; not because I need to clean up the mess .....but because I am itchy all over due to the fine wood dust . Strange ...I never realised I am allergic to dust before . Can you believe it ? I took my baths 4 times yesterday .


2 ) They delivered our refrigerator yesterday . It was hugh ......and with it in my kitchen ...it dominates the space ......suffocating me in fact . Perhaps I should move it to the dining area .


3 ) I have not done any cooking for the past 1 week . There seems to be a problem with the cooking stove . I hope the technician will come soon to determine the cause of the gas leakage which I smell now and then . The sales promoter to whom I made the complaint put the blame on unprofessional people who had installed the stove . I felt like kicking her in the butt for making such assumptions .


Okay , that's all folks .

Tired

I'm just ssssoooooooo exhausted to post anything .........I just got to rest ........

I've Been Busy

We have moved !!! Finally !! Though a part of my study room and dining area are not completed yet . It will be ready in a weeks time .


The house looks terrible . There is clutter , clutter everywhere !! Big boxes and small ones ...all over the place .


We had two guys to help us shift the heavier stuff . There are some stuff lying around the old house which I pick up soon . The house need to be cleaned before we hand over the keys . I'm not hurrying and will do at my own leisurely pace ; after all the rent been paid and it ends this 31st March .





I still need to go there though to feed the cats . I was there last night ....only two were in sight .These two were kind of being sore with me for abandoning them ....they did not come up to me and nuzzled and rubbed their bodies against my legs . They need to be coaxed to come into the house . I fed them ....they ate .....quietly . It was not the usual atmosphere which they used to display . They did not look at me .

I felt bad too .......but I assured myself that they will survive ...after all they are alley cats ...and they are strong ...I never did legally called them my own ....all I did was fed them and gave them water ; and they kind of adopt me ....and in their eyes I am just their food provider . I have seen twelve of them born in my house ....watched them grow ..naughty kittens that create havoc and chaos in my house ; ran in between my legs and almost made me fell ....now and then I would pick them up ...stroke their backs and at times squeeze them as they were so cute .





I have given them so much attention and affection .....now I have to adjust myself with them not around . Both the cats and myself need to move on .....

Packing .....and Loading .......

I saw this simple poem . To move again ...but this time to our own house which we bought two years ago .

Wardrobes , tables and beds
Frying pans and chairs
Boxes full of cups and plates
Books and teddy bears


Microwaves and TV sets
Videos and cartoons
Home computers , footballs
tin openers and teaspoons


I heave them in my big van
and pack them in real tight
I drove off to the new house
And found the place alright


So then I start unloading
All the stuff I packed before
I hope nothing's broken
And hope they can go thru the door.


That was what I had been doing for the past one week . Packing ...loading stuff in my car .....unloading and putting them away . Tiring ......but can't wait to be in my own home ........home sweet home ........





I saw this dog in the back alley . He looked clean ; not the usual scruffy and dirty type of dog . Then I heard someone calling his name ..and realised he belonged to my neighbour .

So hello , dog ..........nice meeting you !!

Lady Cheah

See this lady . She is Miss Cheah . She is twenty seven years old ......and she works for herself .....meaning she is the boss , the CEO and she call the shots .





She is in construction ....that is she renovates houses .....and she builds wardrobes , beds , kitchens and anything you want to do with your house .


Among the things Miss Cheah had build for us is ..........

So far I am pleased with the workmanship for all the things she had built . She is professional too .


Verdict :

A job well done . Value for money too.

Tiring Thursday

Nothing seemed to go right today .


I went to withdraw money at the ATM . Sad to say I was not able to do so . There was insufficient funds as I had transferred most of it to another new account within this bank . This particular bank has a policy that only issues one card for one person ...meaning you can have a couple of accounts with it .....but only one card for withdrawal purposes using the ATM .


Trouble is you can't withdraw immediately like most banks ....as they had to inform their head office in Kuala Lumpur to " tag " my new account . And it took them a long .......lonnnnnnnnnnnng time to do it . One and a half months later ..that is today , I reached my limits .....enough is enough ....and marched off to the bank . I closed my new account .....took out all the money . I was very much disappointed with the service of Bank Muamalat at Sg. Petani .


I went to another bank and this bank was asking for my marriage certificate as one of my supporting documents. My husband and I thought that was just too much . And we went off to another bank .


At this bank , I was luckier ....as there were few customers . I was issued my ATm card one hour later .

On another note , these are some more pictures of the cats that are in my house who decided to call it home too .


Incidences with them :

This particular kitten was so inquisitive and terribly hyper active . She / he climbed up the stairs and went over to the top of my cabinet . She / he was stuck up there and did not know how to get down . I left her up there .My daughter took her down .





I was washing the back part of the kitchen .I shooed these kittens away and they kept coming back . They were wet .....and still refused to move .




This one managed to give me a pose .




They were like this about a month ago .




Now we have another set .....their cousins.





Their mothers are sisters .



They are now two weeks old . They only opened their eyes three days ago.. Mother cat thought their current habitat is too small for everybody's comfort . She moved them upstairs and is now occupying my daughter's room .

The Immigration Department

Its not that often one goes to the Immigration Department . In my case I would be there to renew my maid's work permit . Once done I headed home and would only see the Immigration officers the following year .

Today I had to apply for an international passport . Purpose ...... in case we decided to go somewhere out of the country . But first we had to take a picture of myself ; a passport size photo . Off we went to a photo shop .An old lady was there and she could not be bothered to greet us . The old man was nicer . Once our photos were taken , I chatted with the woman outside .

I asked her if the old man was her husband . She said yes ....and further said " How I hate to see his face !! He makes me want to vomit " . Gee ...I was speechless .... Its not that often one gets to hear a stranger telling you about her marital life . What would you do ?


Anyway , at the Immigration Department , we felt welcome .

There was a counter with an officer manning it . We explained our purpose and he gave us a number ....and the counter to go to .




When my number was called ....this lady officer attended to me . I passed her all the relevant documents . She checked the documents ...and while waiting I saw this on the counter .

It stated the name of the officer ; her job specifications and the duration it would take her to accomplish her tasks . So far , I gave her credits for a job well done . She made me feel at ease too .


Then surprise , surprise .....we met a fellow Sarawakian ....and she was manning another counter . She was just glad to have met us and to be able to speak our Sarawak lingo . Of course , yours truly would ask for the handphone number ....which she gladly gave . It was terrific meeting another Sarawakian .



On the way out , I could not resist taking a picture of this signage .



Good for this department ....they have a special counter for customers who are old and feeble ; handicapped , pregnant women and babies ....people who needs to be attended first and served fast .


Verdict :

An efficient department with friendly staff . I'm pleased ....

Tired Tuesday

Can't wait to shift to our own house . It is tiring to shift ...the packing and the unpacking of things ..then rearranging and putting stuff away to where they belong .



Saw this curtains . I thought it would look good for my kitchen windows . Sweet and neat looking . Homely and with a welcoming feeling too . However the sun's rays shines in my kitchen in the afternoon . It could be very hot with such flimsy materials . Ohhhh...what a shame .


See these kittens ? I managed to take some pictures of them . They are ever so playful !!







I will be saying goodbye to them soon . Sob!!!

I bet everybody slept till the wee hours . I hit the sack at about two in the morning . Yes , the Barisan Nasional could form the government and will be there till the next election ....They won with a slim majority , though .

Its a whiff of fresh air for everyone in Malaysia . A government which is very multiracial and filled with a bunch of opposition parties . Good to have ...for check and balance .

I look on the bright side , they could be performing better , more efficient , no corruption and less complacent . Thank you to our Prime Minister . I will still respect you as a leader . Just wake up and tell your cabinet members to perk up as well . To the opposition parties , do deliver as what you had promised during your campaigning .

Things happening today :

1 ) Election Day .




Do go out and vote . The day looks good ....a bright day . Just go ......its a safe place ...had always been that way where elections in Malaysia is concerned . Bring your Identity Card ..that is what is required and maybe an umbrella ...in case it rains and to keep you in the shed once the day gets too hot . Its a tool too...for protection in case something rowdy happened .


Me ? Not voting today ....mind you I never missed any ever since I could vote . This time around its too far and too expensive to fly over to the island and cast my vote .


2 ) My friend


An old friend Nancy Shukri is entering the political arena . She is the Barisan National candidate for Batang Sadong . I know she would be a politician someday ......I hope she wins ...there are too few women politicians in Sarawak ...she made the grade and I'm proud of her .
I found this photo of her in another guy's blog ...hope he will forgive me for using without seeking his permission . Anyway ......did you know that this lady could sing ? Could really really sing !!!!!!!

Back To Blog Again

I did not update my blog for the past three weeks . There was no intention to neglect it . Now I found it hard to start to write . But here goes :


Things That Happened :

1 ) Computer Problem .

We encountered a problem with our computer . " Something " was blocking the internet access .Well , we took it in our stride ......did not pull out our hairs and cursed ...nor did we lose our sleep over it . We had other things to do to occupy our time . Its not the end of the world .

My husband tried fixing during whatever time he had before he scooted off to work ...... and he finally fixed the problem ........... Bravo !!!

So now I'm back to blog again .



2 ) The Kitchen .


It was finally fixed . Looked neat . Will love this kingdom of mine .

3 ) My Room .


I told the contractor to fix the wardrobe in my room the soonest . And they did . Had put in some of the clothes .....

Still figuring out how to dress the windows . I need curtains .......that will make the room cozy and welcoming ....

4 ) Baking Class


Had attended a baking class in town . Surprisingly , the place was packed . The chef was pretty fast in his demonstrations . He slowed down to answer the endless questions thrown at him . I must say for 6 recipes and seen the method as to how to whip up such delicious for tea delicacies , it was a RM25 well spent !!!
