The Working Week

Hello there !


How's everything ? Has it been a good working week for you ? Hey , what the heck ? Its only the second week of 2008 and you are bogged down with endless paperwork and its deadlines ? It never ends and it never will....long as we are working and making ends meet . That's life ...unless of course we are born with a golden spoon in our mouth with silver linings . Hehe.......!!!!!



Yes...I was there before ...experienced it all . I found beginning of the year was most stressful ....... It doesn't help that you have a boss who is constantly breathing down your neck ; who is calling you and checking out how the paperwork is getting on ........and you at the end of the line is trying your best to explain that " so far so good " situation when actually at the tip of your tongue you want to say " For goodness sake stop calling me .........you are disturbing and breaking up my concentration ". Then you are left to pick up where you had stopped .


Explain the above to your boss and he will say .." Tsk..tsk ...you should be able to do multi tasking . You and your mind should be able to accomodate to changes ". and you in your mind says ......." ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! " You will never win ...that's why they are the boss .

Weekends .....how you looked forward to it . Away from the office and its corporate atmosphere .Two days of recharging and refreshing yourself .....de-stressing and de -toxicating yourself...or so you thought . It doesn't help that you have a boss who can reach you at the press of a button ...that's why its a hand phone because its supposed to be in your hand or somewhere near you ...........unless you switched the phone off just to get away from them . But then you can still see see the " 3 missed calls " appearing on the screen . And that made you think ....is it urgent ...should I call my boss up ? " Whatever the decision it is in your hand . You can run but you can't hide . Hehehe..........Never been easy to be the boss and you to be the subordinates . But then ...bosses should understand that we have a family life to lead as well ...another life .....like him too .

You can say anything about your boss...........moaning about how mean he is ....giving you abundance of paperwork ............plus your daily work routines .............you feel like going ...." arrrghhhh....!!!!!" and started pulling out your hair . ........but have you ever said that up front ? I mean right in his face ? I think few of us dare to do that . That's a bloody personal attack . But if it is something work related and you are being questioned about it ....I would stick out my neck and justify my actions . Of course he wouldn't say to you that he agreed with the decisions ........the fact that you had explained and made him see the " picture " is good .



So ......hang on there . Keep on working ....your life and family depends on it .....As for me ....my honeymoon as a retiree s ending soon .......I am going to make myself busy and perhaps join you guys again in the stressful days of the week .......maybe not in the corporate world ....somewhere ......wherever it may be .
